Cost Accountant Job Description
A Cost Accountant in Utah owns the financial management of product costs within a manufacturing or distribution environment. They maintain standard costs, analyze variances between standard and actual costs, manage inventory valuation, and support pricing decisions with accurate cost data. The role is highly cross-functional: working daily with operations, production, and supply chain teams. This is not a role where you can sit at a desk and ignore what is happening on the floor.

What to Look For in a Utah Cost Accountant
- Manufacturing or distribution industry experience required
- Strong standard costing knowledge, not just general accounting
- ERP experience in manufacturing: SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations teams
